This is just a minor, almost cosmetic, problem (unless it reflects a deeper issue), but I thought I'd report it anyway.
My mailbox consist of hundreds of folder organised as a tree and I noticed Thunderbird usually touches (i.e. changes the timestamp of) many folders that I haven't even accessed. Can anybody explain why this is happening and if it can be avoided?
The reason why this is an issue for me is that my primary backups are synchronised copies that I preview manually. And every day Thunderbird causes hundreds of out-of-sync situations that I should not have to deal with.
In spite of this Portable Thunderbird is still the most practical e-mail client I have ever used, so thanks for your efforts.
Thanks,
Alex
I think there is nothing we can do in this case as its Thunderbird itself (and not only the portable version) doing that. You'd have to go ask in the Mozilla Forums about a fix/workaround. Imho its just the way Thunderbird works.
