This is not a question on if it's possible or how to do it.
I came across this website today http://www.backupusb.com/ and noticed that they are using the PortableApps.com logo in their website. Are they allowed to use the logo or is this a copyright violation?

That would be infringement (and I see additional open source/creative commons images within those graphics used improperly). They have been notified to cease and desist.
