[Discontinued] PhraseExpress Portable 8.0.127 Development Test 2

Discontinued: development of this portable app has been discontinued. If you want to take it over, feel free to do it, but please add a comment to this topic pointing to the new release.

hmm

I came in contact with the developers about six months ago. They said they contacted John long before, but they were ignored, and they seemed mad about it in their email. Said something about only making a PAF version if it would automatically be listed in the directory. Just sayin.

Hello,

please continue the development of this portable app!
I need it!

When I download this poretable version and add it to the PAP (Portable Apps Platform) then the installer tries to download the USB Version of PhraseExpress.
Here I get the message that PhraseExpress USB could not be downloaded.

Try this

Online installer I just modified kAlug's to point it to correct Freeware download. BTW I am not offering to take this over just helping out a user that is all.

When I made it, is was hosted by CNET, and the URL kept changing everyday, so I had to setup a script to parse the download page and grab the correct URL. Eventually I gave up doing it.

I may consider resuming development as now they use a proper URL.

Previously known as kAlug.

I am not a builder

Hello,

I am just a user (and a supporter who donated money).
I never created a portable app and I do not know what to do.
My time is also very rare, so I also do not have the time to get involved into the package process.
I even do not know if it is complicated of it is easy.
But I guess you need a virtual PC, have to check if the portable app creates Registry entries (if packaging was not successful) and so on.
Right?

I am also using PhraseExpress from PortableApps.
Great work!

Since you released version 8.0.127 there are now some updates available.
The actual version available: 8.0.154

In the official version history: http://www.phraseexpress.com/docs8/09/changelog.php
you can see at version 8.0.131 the following text:

This update is strongly recommended as it fixes some critical bugs.

So, please update PhraseExpress to the actual version.

Turnaround to "manualy" install the newest Version

Turnaround to install the newest Version of PhraseExpress_USB with PhraseExpressPortable_8.0.127_Development_Test_2_Online.paf

On 07. January 2014 the newest PhraseExpress Version was v10.0.133

- Download and execute PhraseExpressPortable_8.0.127_Development_Test_2_Online.paf
- Continue after Error 400
- Download the "portable edition" PhraseExpress_USB.zip from http://www.phraseexpress.com/download.php
- Create a folder "PhraseExpress" in x:\PortableApps\PhraseExpressPortable\App\
- Copy the files in PhraseExpress_USB.zip into the new folder m:\PortableApps\PhraseExpressPortable\App\PhraseExpress\
- Done - you shoud find PhraseExpress under Office after a new start of PortableApps

I recomend to the developer (Aluisio) to do it like the developer of "Glary Utilities Portable 2.x.x.x Development Test 1" see https://portableapps.com/node/20481

- Remove the MD5 check (installer will now download latest version)
