Today I started using Firefox Portable 3.6.16 on a system with a very old version of Firefox (v1.x). That old Firefox has no extensions or plugins installed. Firefox Portable is listing many extensions and plugins like a "Move Media Player" extension and Adobe Acrobat plugin. How is that possible?
Firefox will pick up any plugins installed on the local PC. You can set them as disabled if you like (which will only disable them in Firefox Portable, of course) but you can't uninstall them (without uninstalling them from the local PC).
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Would you by and chance know where exactly Firefox looks for plugins? On Windows, are these under some registry key? Or does it just scan all filesystems in the background?
When I first started Portable Firefox, I remember looking at Add-ons and there was nothing there, therefore my suspicion that it scans filesystems searching for compatible plugins.
