Woah, I just noticed this ...

What's happening with gPodder?

  1. You've got an extra .exe on the end of your download link.
  2. This looks like a build for Official Release, not for Beta Testing, is it?
  3. Is this your app? (Read as "Are you the one who made the Official Version?")
    • If not have you asked the person who's currently developing the Official Version if you can take over?
    • If so Shouldn't this have been e-mailed to John T Haller at the Developers Address so that the Official Release could get updated instead of having a second more up-to-date, very official looking, yet unofficial version floating about in the forums?

Edit: Dug around in the forums a bit and found that John T Haller gave you permission ☺, but the rest of this post still stands.

Thanks for the heads up :). I really did not a clue as to what I should do :/. I tried looking for an email address but could not find it.

I think that's the address to send it to.

It's at the bottom of the Contact Us page (which is accessible via the About Us page linked at the top).
However, since I'm not maintaining any official apps (hehe, I haven't even posted any of the DevTests I've prepared yet [arg, there's no smiley for :sheepish-grin:]), I don't really know for sure.

Hopefully that's the right place to send it, if it isn't let me know how it's done so that when I eventually do, I'll know what to do. Wink

Also, I notice you took the extra .exe off of the end of the download link, however I think you might want to remove the link, 'cause I don't think another version of the 2.14 release floating around is a good idea. (I think I remember John telling someone not to post them in the forums unless they're marked as a DevTest, or Pre-Release, to avoid confusion, but I can't seem to find it right now Edit: Now I remember, it was posted in the Outdated Official Apps thread, and thus got deleted :).)

Edit: Looking down Chris Morgan says how to send a new version to become officialised (and guess what? he points to the SAME Address :), then he recommends doing a Pre-Release if you think it might need testing before replacing the current official version)

Direct or Pre-Release

You should either send it directly (see the developers email address), or if there are changes which need testing, set DisplayVersion to "2.14 Pre-Release 1".

Is there a format the email needs to be in?
