If it were the only piece of software in its category, I would ask an expert to analyse it fully. As there are other (probably better) products which are still maintained, I'd recommend leaving it alone.

Since this site offers software primarily for windows systems, the fact there is nothing to remove windows update material(s) then I think having any comment based on what some website has to say can be interpreted as pure conjecture.
Of course the various apps will dovetail to some extent but that is no reason to write off something without close examination, let alone providing a detailed feature comparison.
If I told you what security I am running you'd be surprised, nothing fancy rather off the shelf and free backed by commercial operatives but hey this is the age of mass deceit so each to their own.
I think the fact that it is abandoned (2 years ago now) makes it something we can't consider. Antimalware software needs to be actively maintained to handle newer malware and badware techniques. Plus, while it works on Vista, it's only listed as being tested on Windows 7 (when the site was last updated 2 years ago).
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Can you give us more info like website, what it does, it's license, where to find it?

i think we were writing it off because of this http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/isyscleaner.net not because of the feature set

That is right but while Disk Cleaner does a great job at ongoing system maintenance, what about windows specific files?
I did a full SP3 update and every one until now and had to remove over 1GB of garbage and sure it's been a rough ride but it will be sorted.
All I looked at was the fact that they had worked to portablize the program but I guess 2 years is a long time in any case.
