I'd love to see a portable version of MP3Tag, my favorite tag editor for MP3 files. It appears such a project was once in work (https://portableapps.com/node/18890) but I see nothing on the site for it since April 2009. The home site for MP3Tag is www.mp3tag.de/en/

And it works perfectly! I use it every second day. Would like to see it official... some time.

That's true for a lot of apps with native portable versions. Many of the official released apps are based on such a portable version.
The benefits for having it in the PortableApps format are stated here.
The old development test version made by prapper still works perfectly and even provides an easy way to update pseudo automatically.
If you prefer the original app, feel free to use it instead. I also use some apps that way but mostly stick to the PA.c version simply because it is that easy to just backup the settings of my whole set of apps all at once.

The post you linked to has been removed. mp3tag's publisher has refused to permit repackaging or use of the name.

I had made an online installer and there is no binary available in the installer, if it's the name problem, I'll use another name and re-release it.
