How to install cstm. themes in 2.0 PR1

I believe the title gives away the question, but for clarification, how the heck do I get my custom themes onto the new platform?

You Don't Yet

This feature does not yet exist in the 2.0 reboot within Pre-Release 1. It will be completed shortly but themes for the 1.6.x release won't work. I think themes for 2.0 B5 should work, but I'm not sure yet.

You can get 2.0b5 custom themes to work.

First, close the platform (necessary to change the ini).

You need to extract the theme into the x:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\Data\Theme folder, which is the exact same place it goes in 2.0b5. If you are starting from a .patheme file, just change the .patheme to .zip and you can unzip it.

Then, open the x:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\Data\PortableAppsMenu.ini file and change the Theme entry to:
Theme=Custom
Your custom theme should work fine, even if it has custom menu_icons.

HOWEVER - this will cause an error when you open the Options in the menu, that says
List index out of bounds (-1)
[OK]

If you click OK, the Options window opens fine, and if you want, you can use the Themes tab to apply a built-in theme again. But so long as you have the custom theme, you'll get that error message every time.

So...

@JTH: I had a theme from the beta 5 on, but it switched to the basic red after a fourth load, so technically it could be said that beta 5 platform themes do work, but not permanently. As for the installing, I hope that comes up in the next PR.

@solanus: so that would explain why I still had that error even AFTER I updated the PR platform. Then I guess its back to the internal files of the platform, eh?

You know what, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life TAKE THE LEMONS BACK! Get mad!! I don't want your lemons; what am I supposed to do with THESE!?

Yeah

I think what's happening is that when you open the Options, it reads from the ini, but the current code only expects the built-in themes, so it chokes a bit on that setting.
I'd like to experiment with customizing the new graphic elements (Menu categories icons, for example) but I don't think I can insert them into custom themes yet.
