Hello,
one tool I am using at work is the tool "Screenshot Captor".
You get it at: http://www.donationcoder.com/Software/Mouser/screenshotcaptor/index.html
It is a tool to capture screen shots.
The special thing about Screenshot Captor is that you have many options to edit the screen shot (just some examples:
- You can add objects (boxes, frames, arrows, text boxes)
- These objects can me modified and removed even after restarting the PC
- Many effects like "dim", "blur" and others
This tool is really powerful and I am using it very often.
It would be fine to see it in PA.

Hello,
LightScreen just allows to take screen shots.
The edit capabilities that Screenshot Captor offers are not supported.
But these editing capabilities are the reason why I use Screenshot Captor.
Example:
If I mark an area in a screen shot with a red border, I can move and delete the border any time (also after some months), because beside the image (PNG) there is an .OBJECT file stored (oridinal screen shot and the objects I added).

It works without installation. It didn't make any registry changes when I tried it twice. Although it leaves several files in WINDOWS and other folders. You can run it anywhere if you copy the folder without losing settings. (There are less chances that it will be made portable as it asks for license at startup.)
Hello,
I'm the author of Screenshot Captor, and some of the other programs at DonationCoder.com.
I'm a fan of PortableApps. Couple of quick notes on using Screenshot Captor (and my other programs) portably:
1. If you edit the configdir.ini file and uncomment the "Portable=TRUE" line, the program will run 100% portably and not save files anywhere but in the app directory.
2. You can rename the setup file from .exe to .zip and will then be able to unzip the contents for portable use.
I'm always happy to answer any questions about portable use and make my programs easier to use portably -- use ask (here or on the donationcoder forum).

Do you give us permission to package Screenshot Captor in PortableApps.com Format and redistribute it?
Hello Gord,
I posted a topic on the Screenshot Captor forum asking the author to answer your question (answer it in this posting).
The URL of my posting is: http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=29415.0
Hopefully you get an answer.

You absolutely have my permission to package Screenshot Captor, and all of my other applications with portableapps and redistribute them.
However, to make sure there is no misunderstanding -- Screenshot Captor requires a "license key" to be put in by the user to turn off the message asking the user to visit and sign up at our site. License keys are free, though donations are encouraged. We have tried very hard for the almost 6 years that DonationCoder has been around to be good internet citizens, and to find a way to be funded by users who pay what they want, including nothing, and do so in an honorable way.
Anyway, I just want to make sure there's no misunderstanding with users -- that they know they will still need to visit the site to get a license key even with the portable version.

If it gets stored in the system registry, that would break the portability, n'est-ce pas?
I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.
in portable mode the license key is stored in the application directory, along with all settings.
That's easy to deal with, then. I'll package it up and put up a dev test here later this week.
I've uploaded a dev test of it now: https://portableapps.com/node/30465
Hope it works how you're expecting, please let me know in that topic if there're any issues.
