cache settings revert to default upon restart-how do I prevent this and there is only a setting in options for offline storage.I tried about:config and increased it and it is fine till restart

Cache is not supported in Firefox Portable 3.x. Firefox will cache in memory while running but not between settings. This will likely not be addressed as Firefox 3.x will be end-of-lifed soon.

what do you mean-the browser will stop working? It works fine now and I have no problems??Please explain....

Mozilla Firefox 3.6 will be end of lifed by April of this year. At that point all support will be dropped. No further security or stability fixes will be provided and all bugs, including critical security issues, will remain unpatched, rendering it a dead browser that no one should use. 3.6 is currently in stability maintenance only, meaning it only gets critical fixes anyway. Similarly, we aren't adding any new features or functionality to the portable version of 3.6, only simple fixes and security things.
