and discussed many, many , many times, but microsoft forbids this for security reasons (and they are very right to do this probably)
On *some* drives one can produce fake CD partition, but not on all.

as far as password protection, this has been discussed even more times and is not very useful as it does not really protect very much.
Hardware encrypted devices exist, but any password protection can not be done on software side if the device still should be portable.
