Flash as extension, not plugin?

I've posted before about not being able to use the latest Flash plugin in Firefox portable for You Tube videos; nothing's worked except using the older plugin (10.0.32) which isn't really secure. That works fine, though. In reading the installation directions on this site, it mentions an extension you can use instead of a plugin, but the link there is dead. Is there still a current .xpi, and if so, I'm willing to give it a try if someone can share the link here. Thanks.

no extension

the xpi which did exist long time ago, was just other kind of installer for the plugin. It needed the flash files and placed them in proper folders.

Adobe does not deliver the flash files in such open form and free distribution is not legal. Therefore those xpi which were circulating in net before are obsolete.

Flash is plugin and will behave so. It can be used portably if essential files are copied to the plugin folder of the portable installation. However it should be noted that flash being essentially not a portable program will write to local system and may in many cases leave personal data behind.
