I *think* Java may have dropped Windows 2000 with version 7 onward. And I don't know if LibreOffice officially supports Windows 2000, though it should run on it. Anybody know for sure?
well, obviously you are right, no go for 7u4 on Win2K. But even for 6u31 those guys at Oracle wrote, that it is not running on Win2K - which is not true, it is doing perfectly well, in the portable and the full-install version.
Since the version of 6u31 for offline-installation is no more available on the oracle-webside (except for registered users), i found this one for direct download: [Link removed, redistribution not permitted - mod Chris]

UPDATE: Confirmed. Java 7 requires Windows XP or greater, while LibreOffice still says it supports Windows 2000.
