Hello,
I tried to install the French version of Thunderbird 14 but the installation fails and gives this error message :
L'instruction à "0x003a18cb" emploie l'adresse mémoire "0x001ab000".
La mémoire ne peut pas être "read"
The English version works perfectly.
My OS : Windows XP SP3 fully updated.
Sorry for my bad English and thanks for your help.
Usually, that indicates that it wasn't fully downloaded, if I recall correctly. Try clearing your browser's cache and download it again. If you are getting a bad copy from a specific SourceForge mirror, please let us know so we can kick it.
BTW - We're just now (an hour ago) opening a French forum here: https://portableapps.com/forums/languages/french A couple devs speak French and a few of us may use Google Translate.

I have tried to download the Frech package again several times (even from another mirror) : each time I receive the same application error.
So I have tested a german and an italian package and they work very well.
IMPORTANT : this only happens when I try to install a standalone package. Installing Thunderbird within the Platform is OK.
That's even odder. What path do you have the downloaded installer sitting in when you try to run it?

The path is D:\Telechargement
I ran the ThunderbirdPortable_14.0_French.paf installer from D:\Telechargement on my PC and it came right up. Do you get the error as soon as you run it? What is the MD5 of the installer? It should be e764e01d32ff7b2d3e8785c9791a0386.

It's Correct.
But please don't continue to waste your time with this (little) problem. There is probably something wrong in my Windows I presume.
Thanks.
What happens if you move the installer and run it elsewhere? And you said that it works if you do it through the platform? Did you mean via the app store/updater or by clicking on Apps - Install a New App and then selecting the installer? Do other French installers work, like Firefox 14.0.1 if you run it from the same place the Thunderbird one has problems?
I'd like to track it down if it's an error in our installer, even if it only happens in a very specific instance. Never know who else might run into it and we don't like having our users be inconvenienced.

Firefox installer works fine.
The error only happens when I doubleclick on the installer in this specific directory ("Telechargement").
I renamed the directory into "Telechargemen" and now it works, so I think this issue can be considered as fixed.
Thanks for your help.
Best regards
