Recently I have been checking out HideIP options when browsing ...
AdvOR crashed almost every time I tried to use it.
I then tried the xB Browser and finally managed to see how it works.
xB was last updated around 2010 with the then current MFF browser ...
I found out that I/one can (easily) blend the xB (portable) with this MFF portable "install" ...
It seems xB modelled its portable install on the portableapps model.
It was very easy to put the xB files/folders in the proper place in my MFF portable install
(and make 1 small tweak to the FirefoxPortable.ini file) ...
All but 1 of the xB MFF "extensions/plugins" are disabled under MFF 14x,
but it seems irrelevant ... as far as I can tell ...
when I launch xB in this blended "install", MFF runs "anonymously" ...
I can now access sites that where previously blocked to my IP ...
Maybe xB could be persuade to upate the plugins.
These days plugins stay compatible with MFF longer than they used to ...
I would welcome "hearing" from anyone who could give helpful feedback/analysis of this hybrid "install" ...
I can now run this MFF portable install either with or without anonymity.
There is no redundancy - except for the MFF extensions/plugins that have to be in two separate places in this install ...
