Hello! I'm having a some issues with the new version of the gPodder installation. The portable app is unable to locate the proper version of Python.
You are here
[Fixed] gPodder 3.3.0 asking to install Python
Here is the error message:
gPodder requires Python 2.7. Do you want to install it now?
XP SP3 no local install of Python on launch displays this
I've confirmed the issue and have a fix prepped. I'll have it available either later tonight or tomorrow now?
Tried updating again this morning same problem.
EDIT/ Have Screen clips if needed /EDIT
John, how about letting us know when you get the fix uploaded?
Thanks.
When it's fixed, it's always announced in multiple places and the version number will change. This bug is updated (and the title switched to Fixed) and the new release is announced on the homepage/rss/twitter. It also automatically shows up in the PortableApps.com Platform's updater, which is the recommended way to get it. You can track progress until then here: https://portableapps.com/development/outdated
This has been fixed in 3.3.0 Rev 2. Platform users with 3.3.0 installed will get a quick-install incremental update of under 2MB. Sorry this took a couple days longer to fix than expected.
Did it change download location? All my previously downloaded podcasts are missing. Is there anyway to fix this?
It's exactly the same. If you're seeing this issue, please create a new forum post in this forum with all the details (old version, version upgraded to, operating system, install path, etc).
I don't know the version number that was before two updates ago but the download location was gPodderPortable\Data\config\Downloads.
But now the download location is gPodderPortable\Data\downloads. No longer in config.
I fixed this issue by cutting the downloads folder from config and pasting it into the data directory.
