My Portable Thunderbird version 16.0 keeps creating a folder under profile/mail called "Cache" with subfolders 0, 1, 2, 3 etc + letters A-F. When I delete the folder, they reappear when I restart Thunderbird. Mozilla forums says that this is used by the optional disk cache added in Thunderbird 3.0.
This happens even if I've set the space used by Thunderbird to zero in Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Network & Disk Space -> Disk Space.
Any ideas anyone?

Cache folder in profile/Mail/Cache
having this happening? Have posted in TB forums but no luck so far.
having these folders popping up i great numbers? Also in PTB 17.x.
because nobody has answered or commented on this post.
Anyway, just to end this thread, I managed to solve this by reinstalling TBP from scratch, creating new accounts with the same details as my old ones and then copy over my mail and address book files - I do love this ability with TBP!. Now everything's fine (touch wood!) but I still don't know what caused the cache folders to be created - which in a way is really annoying.
