Portable File and Folder Sync? Toucan alt?

I've been searching for the past few hours and tried a bunch of different utilities, but none seem to do exactly what I need.

I have 2 files in the root directory of a network drive and a folder on that network drive that I'd like to sync with a backup copy on my USB drive.

Toucan comes close.. with it I can sync the directory, then switch to the backup tab and do 2 separate backups (one for each file) and sort of accomplish it in a clunky and less than elegant fashion. Archiving the 2 files isn't the same as comparing those 2 files with the 2 I have on my USB drive and deciding whether or not it should overwrite them.

Ideally someone out there will know of a utility that can sync both folders AND files. I lost count but I think I've looked at over a dozen that sync folders. None seem to be able to handle a single file that's floating in the middle of a bunch of other files that you want to ignore. It just seems like there should be a utility that asks you to select what you want to sync and let you just control-click a couple files and a folder and it would be smart enough to ignore the rest of the drive.

I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks!!

Maybe this?

Out of personal experience, I think that any sync program that includes filters could allow you to do this. I'm pretty sure that Synkron does that, and I know from personal experience that Allway Sync'n'Go has the ability to filter what files are synced. I hope this helps or is at least closer to what you're looking for.

FreeFileSync

My favorite is FreeFileSyncPortable:
https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/freefilesync-portable

You can run it manually to sync files and folders, then save the configuration you just used. Next time, you can load that config file and it will remember the files, folders, exclusions, etc. You can have as many of these config files as you wish.

You can set it to always keep a pair of folders "in sync" by staying active in the background. It even works when files are in use by employing Windows Volume Shadow Copy Service.

It is a very complete package, quick and easy to use.
