Hello everyone!
I've used Clamwin portable for quite some time now and I've installed in a new pen drive. It was all good, but, for some reason, everytime I run CWP it says "You have not yet downloaded Virus Definition Database. Would you like to download it now?". I have said yes to it at least 6times. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, but it happened the same...
Any ideas on how to solve this?
Thanks!
According to ClamWin there is a problem with the latest version 0.97.7 and they recommend to roll back to 0.97.6 until it's fixed.Unfortunately I can't find any links to download and install the earlier version in PortableApps.
Most older versions can be downloaded from our sourceforge project page:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/files/ClamWin%20Portable/Ad...
"What about Love?" - "Overrated. Biochemically no different than eating large quantities of chocolate." - Al Pacino in The Devils Advocate
Thanks for that link.Uninstalled 7 and downloaded and installed 6 and it downloaded and installed the database with no problems.
I know the recommended course of action is to downgrade but I was curious as to whether manually downloading the definitions would work too.
Virus definitions can be found here:

I have the latest version on a USB stick but I haven't noted any problems yet. I'll have to go try it out and see what happens.
UPDATE: I'm not actually experiencing any issues at all. I just opened ClamWin, did an update (without any issues) and it all just worked. I closed the app and opened it again and no complaints from ClamWin. (and I'm using the latest version. Odd)
I just updated to the latest version "8" and got the same problem as "7".
I'll try your link and see what happens.
Just to clarify, I was using version 0.97.7 without any issues. I've since upgraded to 0.97.8 and still do not experience any issues.
Good luck!
