Hello there,
For performance reasons I prefer to run Chrome locally. Thus I set RunLocally=true in GoogleChromePortable.ini.
However, having Chrome closed, I never know when the moving data back to the portable drive has finished. Sometimes this results in data loss.
So, my question, how do I know that the moving data back to the USB drive process has actually finished before unplugging my drive and therefore risking data loss?
Thanks!
The easiest way is to open Task Manager and wait until GoogleChromePortable.exe closes.
For most public computers access to the Task Manager is restricted.
Try Process Explorer Portable. I don't think it requires administrative rights. Just sort by Process Name and you should be able to see when GoogleChromePortable.exe closes.
Thanks! I will try it. I just wanted to make sure that this feature is not already somehow handled by the PortableApps plattform. But apparently it is not.
