I gave a glance but not a hardy look through Mozilla site looking for info about the tittle of this thread. At first i did not notice this issue but i seem to see it more and more and it is a tad odd. Whenever I open a page like here or on another forum or any site i visit. If it is longer than can be displayed on the screen and has to be scrolled if I scroll down and click a link it brings right back up to the top of the page. A tad annoying if you are looking at a 50 post thread on a single window and click a link near the bottom and have to scroll back down to click it again to open it.
Has anyone else experienced this? Maybe something conflicting with a plugin? Being as i am not an expert but can usually play with things to make them work, I am at a loss on this one. With roughly 30 or so plugins installed, I would rather not go the uninstall and re-install of plugins to work through this one as that would just be plainly painful to do. Will do if it comes to it but figured I would ask first.

There are nowhere near 30 plugins even available, so do you mean extensions?
List your extensions. I have 80 active myself, and have not encountered this problem.

I think the problem is that when you click a link at the bottom of a long forum and then press the back button you start back at the top of the page. This is because Firefox doesn't remember the position you were at when you clicked the link. Try opening new tabs to links in long threads, thats how I get around the problem. There also might be an extension available to fix this

You are clicking on the "new" link under a forum topic.
If the list of replies or comments is longer than a single page, Drupal only direct you to the first page. I don't think this has anything to do with FF, it is just the way that Drupal works.

More clear description... I have 30+ extensions installed plus 2 themes. I will list them at the end of the post. Whenever I am on a page fresh and scroll down to another part of the page and I click a link any link, it bring me to the top of the page. I scroll back down to the link and click the same link again and it opens. I have also observed the same issue when i right click on the ppage by accident or intentional after scrolling down it will also bring me back up to the top. This is not a back button or a past page issue. This is on fresh pages. This also happens on any page that i visit. Whether be here or at RedVsBlue or at UBCD4Win or any site I vist. Forum or not...
