Digital Signatues in OpenOffice.org Portable

I don't know if anybody else has a problem with this, but it's really getting to be a pain for me. I often use a digital signature with my emails and any documents I intend to distribute on disk. The problem is OpenOffice only loads signatures/certificates from the host computer's default browser. In other words, if I want to use a digital signature with OOoPortable, I need to first add my signature file to the host's browser -- usually IE, icky -- then add it from there to my document, finally removing it from IE, which usually keeps a backup of it hidden away for me to hunt down and scrap also. What I'd like to know is if there is any way to direct OOoPortable to go to the FireFox Portable for U3 that's also on the drive.

To everyone who automatically directs people to search the forums, I already did. It ain't there.
To everyone who would like to think it is OpenOffice.org's problem, I tried that already as well. The response I got was along the lines of "huhhhh?"

The main reason I'm starting a thread here is it seems it would be the kind of thing users of the site ought to know...how to make a nonportable into a truly portable.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated, and while I don't like going into the source code of a program this big, I'll do it if someone can show me where to go and what to do. I've done small stuff, but going into OOo makes my head spin...
