I did a search for a portable mp3 tag editor and came across the following topic created by evil baz https://portableapps.com/node/5299 - MP3/Tag Studio Portable 3.5 (Beta 18)
However, since this s/ware is a no-go ...which is a shame because it sounds perfect for what i need in terms of the features then, is it possible for someone to create a portable version of mp3Tag Tools..its has nowhere near the features of the one here being offered by evil baz, but nonetheless and i guess this was the sticking point with baz's offering, this is an open source and free alternative. The tag editor I like to use is TagScanner. It is freeware for home use. It seems to be somewhat portable just install and copy the directory to your pen. It allows you to edit the tag and rename the files. It also will lookup tag info from freedb which is great if you have an album with no tag info. The weblink is http://xdev.narod.ru/en/tagscan.htm .
I recommend mp3tag - freeware, portable since v2.37 and the best imho anyways. There even exists a plugin to use it in conjunction with TotalCommander...
