Colour Contrast Analyser Trojan Alert

Windows Defender on Windows 8.1 pro

From a background maintenance run, Windows Defender detected:

Trojan.Win32/Varpes.M!cl

see:https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/threat/encyclopedia/entry.aspx...

PortableApps was not running at the time. Initial scan of .paf (with WD) did not alert. Scan of .paf (with WD) after the warning also showed no threat.

99% chance that it's a false positive. Nevertheless, I've had to take the precaution of removing it until further notice.

Follow up

Should anyone else encounter this I've done a bit more research on it and found the most recent av-comparatives false test report, from March 2016, in which the Microsoft av also false detected Trojan.Win32/Varpes variants on clean files. So it's over to MS on this one.
