After hitting Ctrl + K and running a search, and pressing enter, nothing happens! I have tried saving my bookmarks, erasing the entire firefoxportable directory, and reinstalling, but it doesn't solve the problem. I would really like the Google search back. I do a lot of research online.
Please help. I can provide any information necessary.

with "Ctrl + K"? I use the built-in search bar to google around.

ctrl+k is just a shortcut to the built-in search feature of firefox. its the same as using the mouse and clicking on it.
I use is this:
You can assign a keyword to each searchbar.
Just right-click in the Google search window and click on "add a keyword" (I dont know how the real name is, as mine is german). Then add a keyletter or -word to the search.
Now all you have to type is the keyletter "space" yoursearch.
Example:
I have g=Google
"g wine for Suse"
"What about Love?" - "Overrated. Biochemically no different than eating large quantities of chocolate." - Al Pacino in The Devils Advocate
Open the properties for a bookmark and in the URL space, you put the search query as %s
e.g.
http://php.net/%sThen just add a keyword and you can use it.
e.g. Keyword: php
php str_replace----
