I reinstalled my Windows 7 OS and after that when i started google chrome i saw that all of the settings and extension were gone, only the bookmarks were there. Why is that? This was the reason i was using the portable chrome, because i didn't won't to loose my settings and extensions. I don't get how this can happen if chrome is really portable.
Most Google Chrome settings are locked to a specific Windows account. This is by design of the Chrome team. Logging in to Google and syncing your settings gets around this. There are warnings on the Google Chrome Portable homepage and within the installer as you install Google Chrome Portable about this.
You should not use Google Chrome at all anywhere, portable or local, without logging into Google.
If you want a fully portable browser, use Firefox Portable.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Syncing google account restores bookmarks and extensions but does not restore extension and browser settings. I thought the portable version will keep these setting, but i guess there is no way around this.
How can i start google chrome portable with command line switches?
