Can I download from SourceForge if it's not in News section yet?

Can I download from SourceForge if it's not in News section yet?

Hi!
If a portable app appears on SourceForge, but not in the News section yet, is it safe to download it?
For instance, I saw that Firefox ESR 68.2.0 is ready on SourceForge, but not in News.

Best Not To Download from SourceForge

General advice on this is that it is best not to download from SourceForge. Gord Caswell, who does a lot of application for PortableApps, recommends not to download from SourceForge -- best to wait on the official release. His comment on this issue can be seen here:

Use Portable Apps on both Flash Drive and HDD/SSD.
