[Fixed] Opera localization (not translate) (file Local State)

Hello! I'm not sure but it seems work normal in earlier versions. Point. Search in the default search engine in the search bar (Omnibox). Previously, Yandex search was available in Opera. It is currently not available in the list and cannot be selected by default. If you manually add this search tool, it cannot be selected by default. When trying to fix the "local state" file ( from " location":{"country": "us","country_from_server":" USA"} to - - - > "location":{"country": "RU","country_from_server": "RU"}. Nothing changes. Moreover, all settings were reset. It worked the first time, though.

Is there any way to localize Opera Portable via Local State? If not, how can I at least return the search via Yandex to the Omnibox?

Opera Version:67.0.3575.137

Options

Can't you select your language in Options? As for search I believe Opera's partnership with Yandex ended and they're not included. You can likely add them manually: https://help.opera.com/en/latest/search/

I'm not sure about that.
If you download and install Opera, you can choose the installer on the Opera website. You can decide who you can sell your soul (and your metadata) to Google or Yandex Smile
Or are there different partnerships for the portable version and the installation version? (This is not sarcasm. I really don't know. The reality of business is far from me.)

Opera’s default search engine is Google, but you may prefer to search using Ecosia, DuckDuckGo, Amazon, or Wikipedia. To change the default search engine:
Go to Settings.
Under Search engine, select your preferred search engine from the dropdown menu.

The problem is that you can only assign a default search engine from the ones that are initially offered. The search engines that you add yourself (Custom search engines) can't be assigned by default. However, the content of initially available search engines depends on the locale in the "Local State" file"

Therefore, I will repeat the question in more detail. 1. Can I do something to edit the configuration files (these are text files) of the portable version of Opera to get the version that is available on the Opera website (with full Russian localization), or is it impossible? 2. If this is not possible and the portable version currently available on PortableApps has English (only with that set of search engines), is there a way to assign manually added search engines to the default search engine? (This is not an interference with the source executable code, but just fine-tuning the configuration files?)

Install In Russian

I installed the current version of Opera from their site in Russian in their portable mode. The list of search engines is Google, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, Amazon, Bing, Wikipedia. It turns out you have to download a special installer that they only make available within Russia to get Yandex. They do this based on IP geolocation. I had to VPN into a Russian IP to even see it.

Yandex Search Plugin

I analyzed the way the specialized version for Russia is constructed and made it available as a plugin. The current and future versions of Opera Portable will preserve the plugin as you upgrade using our installer or the PortableApps.com Platform as well. You can get it on the app page: https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/opera_portable#app-notes

Note that I don't know what will happen if you let Opera update itself. You may need to reinstall it.

It work! :)

Thank you so much!
Still, the native search engine is more familiar to me. In addition, Yandex is self-critical. At the bottom of the search results page there are links to search for this query in other search engines (including Google and Bing);). Google does not provide such an opportunity. Smile

"Anything that can go wrong will go wrong"

It looks like the recent updates of Opera (official installers) have made significant changes ... I do not know whether this is a problem caused by a Yandex plugin (unlikely) or a problem has arisen regardless of this, but for some reason all profile settings have been reset to zero, including installed extensions and bookmarks.
At the same time, the settings added by the Yandex plugin have been preserved :).
Unfortunately, I can't say for sure on which version of Opera this happened, since I haven't used the Opera browser for a long time, but I regularly updated the platform, and the backups have already been overwritten.
