The version of OpenOffice used on this site is 2.0.4 while the latest is currently 2.2. Is there anyone still maintaining this? Version 2.2 loads much quicker on my desktop, fixes some small issues here and there, and is overall more responsive.

I'm sure John is working on it, as he always says, "It will be done when it's done"

I downloaded and installed the new version on my computer and then copied the files inside into the open office directory on my jump drive.
Paste in this directory H:\PortableApps\OpenOfficePortable\App\openoffice
It's in testing:

It has been a long time that no upgrade version releases. Is only one person working on the project?
... Yes. At the moment it is a one man show and great work of John Haller.

........second only to PFF I would have thought that getting OOo 2.2 out would be higher on the priority list. I see that OOo 2.1 came and went without a portable release, and the 2.2 beta has been out for ages.
I seem to remember someone once said that John doesn't make portable versions of betas, but only full versions.

He means John released HIS beta of 2.2 Portable. 2.2 is a full version, John's portable version is in beta

Ah, then I misunderstood.

...was put up by John on April 11th, so as there doesn't appear to be any major issues isn't it time to be released?? If there are bugs then I'm sure it can be reported by the Forum??
