My Apache Open Office Portable 4.1.8 is suggesting me to update to 4.1.9, by manual download from the Website.
¿Should I accept, or I must wait until the new version is available in Portable apps?

It is best to wait for the updated portable app. In that way you don't risk compromising the portable nature of your OpenOffice 'install'. John is currently 'building' it but I don't think OpenOffice is high on his list of priorities so it will take a while. To check the update status see this page:

When OpenOffice disappears from that list that means it has been built and should be available for download within a couple of days thereafter.
