It seems the Maxthon France team disbanded. They were maintaining the build. The current Maxthon is incompatible with the old one due to a complete rewrite, so I'll need to move an existing install to a legacy one for folks upgrading, but I should be able to package it in the near future.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
