thx! BTW hint for all german followers: simply replacing "English" with "German" (result: https://portableapps.com/downloading/?a=FirefoxPortable&s=s&p=&d=pa&n=Mo...) WORKED for me .. as work-around

Outdated apps topic

Right at this moment (2023-05-02 19:11 CET), it is not released officially here on PortableApps.com.
You can check the Outdated Apps topic the next time, found in the development section. Or in the hints "Before posting..." when you create a new topic.

Just now it has an entry:

  • ...
  • Firefox 112.0.2 (John built, mirroring...)
  • ...

So possibly this evening or tomorrow, you find it piublished here. Atm you just find some stray links, but they are not officially published yet.

Mozilla released 112.0.2 on

Mozilla released 112.0.2 on April 25, 2023.
It's May 2nd today, it usually doesn't take this long for PortableApps to officially release Firefox Portable.

Firefox 113 is being released a week from now.

Delays

Sorry, I'm currently in Florida for 3 weeks caring for my terminally ill father, so releases have been a bit delayed. I'm trying to catch up this evening and tomorrow evening.

...additionally, if you can't

...additionally, if you can't wait for the next official update (maybe because of security reasons or something), you could use the internal updater in the meantime. Normally it works ok, you may just miss a possible adjustment of an updated launcher. But that does not happen too often and for the few days it may be an acceptable shortcome, until the official pa.c update fixes that.

Or, just wait, it is seldom more than a few days.

Patience is a virtue

Patience is a virtue, people, there's no need to go on an updating spree. Just because a developer (in this case Mozilla) releases a new update of its application (in this case Firefox) doesn't mean you should update it right away.

Simply report the outdated application (if it hasn't been done so already) in the thread depp.jones linked/pointed out and wait. Then, depending on how much time and effort John (and others) needs to work on, it'll be available ONLY when it IS done... and NOT before.

People have lives, y'know, let alone their real-life issues...
