Obsidian Portable Updated

Application: Obsidian
Category: Office
Description: Complete Note Taking App.

I have created the portable version of Obsidian. For those of you who want to try it, here is the link to download it. I have uploaded the .zip file or the .exe created with the PortableApps installer. I will try to update it when I see that the previous version can no longer be updated automatically. If it helps you, I would appreciate a star in the GitHub repository. ⭐

Swedish language file

Hi!
Thank's for making this application available here. Haven't used this app so much yet but haven't seen any problems with it. Noticed that it lacks an Swedish translation and wonder if there a rule of how it should be done? If some one else already got into it then it is great...

Is there some way to have the vault synced with a cloud of choice like google drive, dropbox, owncload and maybe some kind of crypto support planed for this application?

Kind regards
Leilf

Syncing Options for Obsidian

Hi, I want to chime in, I use syncthing currently to sync my Obsidian vault, the plugin is still being worked so I test it without plugin, it works. I like how there's an indicator how many bytes of data are yet to be synced in syncthing android fork.

Back to your question, the YouTube I link here also mentioned on how to set up cloud storage for your Obsidian vault. Check the links in his video description and my link.
If you are interested in Syncthing, try a beginner setup by Troublechute in YT the title is about KeepassXC and Syncthing but it works for any folders. Honestly the syncthing documentation is solid for me no problem for now. I want to try cloud but I can't sync it while something like cryptomator is also up and running so I just settled with just syncthing for now.

(The forks are made by community in Syncthing GUI wrappers version of the apps in download section)

PS, OP, any update on Obsidian portable app version, it's currently behind main repo?
Take your time tho, for local, I'm gonna also run main repo app in my device for now until this got updated again.

Best Regards,
Adi.

User is not authorized to execute "OBSIDIANPORTABLE.EXE"

Hi all,
I've downloaded and installed both the .zip and paf.exe files and tried running them on a USB drive and via OneDrive. I always get the message:
- AppSense Application Access Denied: User is not authorized to execute "OBSIDIANPORTABLE.EXE".
Did I do something wrong, or are ICT protocols just super strict, and is there no hope for me to ever use Obsidian (or any other portable app) on my work laptop?
Thanks.

B

AppSense

AppSense is used by the organization that owns your device and can be set to refuse to run certain executables based on assigned criteria (only certain publishers, only certain EXEs, blacklist or whitelist, etc). Your organization has set it so OBSIDIANPORTABLE.EXE can not be run by you.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
