Looks like it's totally obsolete and overtaken by current technologies.
I've tried downloading some files from: SourceForge, LibreOffice extensions, SumatraPDF's website.. All the time it shows an 'Unknown network error'. But was able to download a movie's subtitle and a .html's webpage.
Tested on: Win 7 x64 → The two latest versions
PS. I've used it like ~15~ years ago, It was working!

You dismiss the ad (no thanks, or remind me later) and then the app starts. It's likely in your system tray. You can turn off update checks within Options.

Please check the functionality/efficiency of the software. It no longer works properly.
The continued presence of the software here on the site is just an advertisement for the newer version.
Is it the download click interceptor you're talking about? I added a URL directly to FDM to download and it downloaded the file without issue.

In my side: SumatraPDF files, an AIMP skin, a LO extension and FDM (portable) from Sourceforge.
Added manually of intercepted by FDM, nothing seems to work for me!

Right-clicked and copied the download
Right-clicked in FDM and selected add a new download. URL was pre-filled. Clicked OK. Worked without issue.

On my test:
FDM: 8 downloaded successfully
uGet: 13 downloaded successfully
All of them worked except http://www.technixupdate.com/wp-content/uploads/images/Searchinsidethefi... which is a 404.
