Eraser Classic is the original Eraser up to version 5.
For version 6 they rewrote it to require the .NET Framework. We keep both versions for more compatibility. If your OS supports .NET 4.6 you should go with Eraser .Net. You can check compatibility here.
do the differences between the versions afect any security issues by the erasing function?
or work both same secure and smooth?
any major or dire necessity reason they switched to .net?

You are asking questions we can't really answer. The only way you'll get an answer to those things is if you ask the developer of the app.
will then now stay by classic, as real portable.
