Racing against the clock!

I searched the forum and found only one other thread that asked a similar ?, but not the same one.

I would lik to have the PAM stay open after clicking an app to launch it. I always feel like I am racing against the clock if I want to launch 2 or 3 apps, I either maybe get to 2 if I am fast enough before the menu fades, or I have to relaunch the menu to start each application.

Is there some setting I can change to allow for the manu to remain as long as my mouse hovers over it?

No/Maybe

No, there is no setting to change.
Sorry.
But if it is always the same programs you are using, you could make a launcher for them.

Menu

It's a menu. So, like the Windows start menu... it's supposed to disappear when you click something in it. You can't make the Windows start menu stay up either.

Menu staying open

one of my usb flash disks came with a program (USB Notebook) which functions in a similar manner to your program, however it has a button I can click on that forces it to stay open so I can easily select different things without having to go to the system tray over and over. I use your program much more because of the ability to modify its appearance (I'm using MOD r30) and the ability to add my own programs to it (the other program is static with pre-loaded items only). I would love to have a button to allow me to keep it open (like the other program has).

well,

refreshing an "antique" post doesn´t make much sense. Try out Pam 1.1ß4 and change the .ini "stay visible=true" or post anew or here https://portableapps.com/node/8450

Well,

I've got an app that doesn't make the launcher close. I think its caffe1ne from zhorn software.
May I suggest (just like the other guy a suggestion) making a luancher for several apps with this program . A freeware prgram, it has some incredible capabilities. (You can write a full blown program in it!)

I'm just starting to play with it, but I'm pretty sure that you could write a multiple prgram launcher with it. Its freeware, and after you've written a good .ahk (I think that's the extension)you can use an included convertor to convert it from .ahk to a .exe.

I think you can even make it portable, just make it clean up after itself if it leaves anything behind.

the moderator fixed it, so who cares? The link works and I'm happy.

PAM staying visible

I love Portable Apps Menu and currently use r30. In the options menu is an option to make the menu stay visible. How do I add this on/off function as a button on the menu (I am trying to create a customized mini-nano type menu...something between a nano and a mini in size)? Sorry my previous post raised a ancient post but am new to boards like this.

no need to apologize...

mod R3x has the function. I don´t know wether that might be possible with the new official PAM 1.1. With R3x there should be some abilities changing the ini and creating a new button. https://portableapps.com/node/8569?page=1#comment-53345
Looking into the different theme .ini might help.

Thanks so Much!

NeoRame, thanks so much for this...it's exactly what I needed! I was close (having looked at what others had done) but couldn't figure out what to call for OnClick. This works a treat! Now, if only I can get a button (or buttons) to mount and dismount my Truecrypt volume I would be in heaven! I don't need it to mount automatically since I don't use it daily (and it's pretty much useless in a cafe). I know your own menu does this but I want the ability to keep the menu small (mine is 164 pixels wide). If I can get this to work I'll post it for others to use too! Thanks again, I may be new to all this but at least I am excited!
