Upgrade to PortableApps.com Platform 30.1.1

Error on update indicates that the download is not valid. is this a checksum failure?

Working Here, Details, Manually Update

It's working here when upgrading from both an older version (full new platform download) and a recent version (quick patch download). What version are you currently running, what's your OS, and what's your install path? Just so I can look into it for others.

For right now, you can manually update and you should be good to go: https://portableapps.com/support/platform#manualupdate

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Defender won't let me download the 30.1.1 installer

John, I followed the manual update instructions but it has brought me to this point that this process doesn't work either. Changes to Defender apparently are preventing even the downloading of 30.1.1 as I get a virus warning that prevents saving the download. I have Windows 11 Enterprise 24H2 and Defender is current. It says there was a virus detected in the executable and it won't save or complete execution. The platform is dead in the water at this point as far as upgrading is concerned. I use the default install path and only for the local user since I don't have Admin rights. Is there a workaround, or will a new copy of the platform need to be created that doesn't trigger Defender? Or did you actually get a virus injected into the platform??

Thanks in advance for your time and energy!

Hi,

Hi,
built-in update also failed on my work computer (Windows 11 24H2 Enterprise) with a similar message as OP.
I tried several times since Wednesday.
I haven't tried a manual update yet but as my work computer runs Defender, I may run into the previously mentioned issue.

The download dialog indicates a 3383kb size, but the download page says the package weighs 7MB:
https://portableapps.com/download
Is the update package smaller than the full package? Or is it corrupted on the mirror the platform updater uses (I don't know which one)?

Are there logs on my filesystem to try to understand what is going on? Is the downloaded package cached somewhere?

Built-in update worked on my home computer, which doesn't run Defender.
