Upgrade from v1.5.0.12 to v2.0.0.6 screwup

Environment:
Windows XP up to date on patches
Thunderbird NOT installed
Thunderbird portable version 1.5.0.12 being used daily for email

Then:
Upgraded to Thunderbird version 2.0.06 and everything, except for the address book, got screwed up.

I followed the upgrade instructions below, as found on this site, but they seem to be wrong. This seems to be old, written for upgrades within version 1, before there was a version 2.

"To install Thunderbird Portable, just download the portable package at the top of the Thunderbird Portable page and then double-click it. Select the location you wish to install to and click OK. A PortableThunderbird directory will be created there and all the necessary files installed. That's all there is to it.. "

This is what Portable Thunderbird looks like when it starts up

This is the error log just after startup

I have a full working backup, that being part of the beauty of portable apps, but sooner or later need to migrate from v1 to v2.

Can I just copy selected files/folder from v1 to v2?
Thanks.

Weired.

Mine worked without a problem.
Did you make sure you download didn't get corrupted?
Or the profile got corrupted?

no corruption

The Thunderbird error log clearly shows a host of problems - I don't see the need to guess. I just don't understand the error messages.
