Autoplay won't work after reformatting drive to NTFS

I formatted my drive to NTFS and now it won't autoplay when I insert it, it just opens up the drive in Explorer. I have to manually autorun it by right-clicking on the drive letter and selecting AutoPlay. Is there any way to change the properties so it autoplays on insertion like it's supposed to?

Did you try

right clicking on the drive -> properties -> AutoPlay and reset the options there?

I'm sure you probably already tried that, but you didn't say.

Also some programs interfere with the default autoplay options, MS Media Player (turn off sync) searches for music file to sync with your media library, and Adobe Photo Album searches for pictures to add to your photo album, I'm sure there are others as well.
