PortableApps.com Flash DrivePortableApps.com is proud to announce the first public beta of the PortableApps.com Music Production Suite. The PortableApps.com Music Production Suite is a complete collection of portable apps produced in conjunction with OpenSourceHipHop.org. It includes an audio editor, video processor, image editor, scalable graphics editor, web browser, email client, office suite, calendar/scheduler, instant messaging client, antivirus, audio player, sudoku game, password manager, PDF reader, minesweeper clone, backup utility and integrated menu, all preconfigured to work portably. Also included are songs from the1shanti and Bonita Applebum along with the various tracks from the songs for remixing under a Creative Commons A-NC-SA license. Just drop it on your portable device and you're ready to go. And, as always, it's all open source and completely free.

Pidgin logoPidgin Portable 2.6.6 has been released. Pidgin Portable is a versatile instant messaging client packaged as a portable app, so you can take your IM settings and buddy lists with you. It has all the same great features as Pidgin, including support for AOL, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ and Jabber networks, but there's nothing to install on the local PC. This new release updates Pidgin to the latest version. Improved installers for Pidgin-Encryption and Pidgin-OTR have also been released. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Suite. And it's open source and completely free.

Secondary profiles allow you to have another complete set of settings (bookmarks, emails, calendars, preferences, etc) for each portable app. It's great for sharing your flash drive with someone else, development and testing extensions or separating work/school stuff and personal stuff. The secondary launchers work with all versions and all languages and are available from the portable apps' support pages today. And, as always, they are open source and completely free.

PortableApps.com Flash DrivePortableApps.com has released the PortableApps.com Platform 2.0 Beta 4, making it easier than ever to carry your favorite software with you. This test release is an update of the 2.0 Beta 3 release with the new enhancements from 1.6 included. From 1.6, the latest feature is theme switching and a system tray icon fix. And, as always, it's all open source and completely free.

The PortableApps.com Suite 2.0 Beta 4 release is available for user to test from the beta forum release announcement. Please post testing-related comments there.
