Hi all,
I'm trying to build the lightscreen portable app from the source code, but I don't know what libraries, environment variables, build settings, etc. I need to use. I'm planning on using Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition, but I also have VB .NET from when I was in school so I could install that as well(assuming it will even work with Windows 7). I'm open to something else if there is something that is easier with a minimal learning curve and somebody to tell me the appropriate settings.

I have at my desktop a shortcut with target as below:

I've installed Google Chrome 3, 4 Beta, and 4 Beta Dev releases for PortableApps, trying to manually install Adobe Flash Player on each one, one by one. The method I used is the known one: downloading the flash player xpi file, changing it to a ZIP, extracting out the xpt file and the dll file, and copying them into \Chrome-bin\\ . However, Flash Player still does not work, and does not show as installed in about:plugins. Am I doing something wrong? Or is Flash just not supported on the Portable release?

I was just zipping the content of my USB stick when AVG 8.5 Virus scanner detected a virus in the file "Foxit Reader.exe":

...\PortableApps\FoxitReaderPortable\App\Foxit Reader\Foxit Reader.exe

Trojan Horse IRC/BackDoor.SdBot4.PBX

Does anyone know if this is correct or if it is a false positive?

Whenever I go to download the video files for Warzone, it's so slow! It took over a hour for the high quality video to download, while Java Portable takes about 30 seconds! It always starts fast, but then the download speed slows down.

What's wrong with the files? And why does the installer need to download them instead of being packaged with the installer itself?

I need to extract something for the Mac-on-Stick instructions, but I have no known means of extracting from it...

...Any ideas?

Every time I launch XnViewPortable I get this prompt:

"Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer"

It's irritating and impractical to have to click Yes every time.

Any ideas?

hi whatever happened to the updater application. seems outdated. this is a handy application for checking for any updates of my installed apps.

I'd like to ask whether or not it is possible to use the Official Extensions Gallery (https://chrome.google.com/extensions)to install extensions using Portable Apps Google Chrome (Using DEV 4.0+). I currently cannot install any of the extensions available on the site.
