Apps' OSI link is outdated

I just noticed, in referencing OSI-compatible licenses, that the OSI Certified link is outdated. This link would presumably be clicked on by someone who wants to know what OSI certification means, but it just drops them on the latest meeting minutes, which I am sure is not the intended action. Rather, I propose the links all be updated to point to this page, as it outlines what software must be to earn OSI certification, and I imagine this or one like it is what was originally linked.

u3 vs portable apps

Submitted by sbankston on May 15, 2009 - 7:00pm

my flash drive crashed and burned the other night. lost 1GB of info.
i bought a u3 enabled flashdrive. i realize u3 has some free apps but does charges mostly for theirs. i support open source free software such as portableapps. my question is this.1 should i just leave u3 enabled on my flash and download free stuff. 2. or should i disable it? and if so, how do i do that? do i need to go buy another flashdrive? 3.can i use portable apps on a u3 enabled sandisk?
pros/cons/opinions solicited. thanks.

School suddenly has a problem with portable apps

Submitted by 13579 on May 12, 2009 - 3:32am

Greetings all-

I've been using portable apps for years without a problem. But suddenly today, the admins at my school seem to have a problem with it.

I'm going to have a meeting with the principal and the school tech person to discuss it tomorrow.

Any tips on what to say to them about this?

If they still won't let me use portable applications, I'm just going to stop using school computers. Internet Explorer is horrible, Microsoft word and such take forever to load, everything is much too bloated. I also have my computer set up with all open-source software.
