I know many people would say defaults but as a gamer/tech I have come to realize... defaults suck...

Before (like when XP first came out...) I just let it format with defaults... since then however I have come to customize everything... even now I notice a performance gain from my WD Raptor's when I use 64k unit allocation for OS Drive/Game Drive/Storage drive...

So i guess my reason for this post... Whats the best FileSystem/Allocation Unit size?

FAT32 - 512b/1024b/2048b/4096b/8192b/16384b/32768b/65536b

Hello, I just downloaded portableapps and put it on my flash drive. Whenever i open one of the apps the menu itself closes. I want to keep it open, is there any way to do this? Also, is there anything I can do that will make it faster?

I know this has been talked about before, but Notepad++ Is crashing, even with the current update. Anyone know why this is happening?

I am unsure exactly where this should be posted as there is no direct e-mail or forum section for the discussion of time travel, but as a side note to whoever has the ability to update the website the page for ClamWin Portable (https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/clamwin_portable) states it was stolen from the year 20,008. I assume flux capacitors were involved.

I am looking for a well made, reasonably fast USB drive for portable apps, any ideas? It seems the advertised fast drives are great for large files not the smaller ones of a portable app. I am using a San Disk Titanium and it works well but it's getting old and flaky.

hi I have just brought a 20gig hard drive and was just wondering if PA would be the best thing to put on it.

i have been using PA on my 2gig flash drive, i am use to it and think it is a wonderful program.

I just want to know if there is a better application more suited to portable hard drives than PA so can you help me out. i have not really found out any good sites for help.
