Awesome bulk jotti scan application

Submitted by noein on August 19, 2014 - 5:49pm

Hello i have been using portable apps under the radar for years, but i had to make an account to show people this one.

Im sure everyone here has heard of jotti malware scans (http://virusscan.jotti.org/en), if not you really should. It is an online virus scan that uses 18 of the top virus programs to scan each file you upload. The one problem with it is you can only scan one file at a time and its really time consuming.

My Story

This was originally supposed to be my bio, but it turned into so much more. This is the story of how PortableApps changed my life.

My name is Zackery and though I am young, I have big dreams. I don't know exactly, but after I graduate college, I will definitely get a job in the technology area. Programming or game design are my top two choices.

Even though good equipment is costly, my family doesn't have much money so I spend most of my days at my decade-old Dell desktop with Windows XP doing whatever I can with 256mb of RAM and a 15gb hard drive.

Interoperability of portable apps, is possible?

Well, is this possible? I mean, is possible that installed apps to be "aware" of other intalled apps, instead of using the Operating System defaults? (Like, PortableThunderbird being aware that PortableFirefox is installed and open the links from a mail there)

I've searched through the forum, and only found this old thread https://portableapps.com/node/700 about that topic, but, since it's from early 2006, and I can't find anything related since then.

Duplicate/Cloned Files Finder

Hello. Long time, no forum.

Is there any application currently in the PA.c stable that allows me to locate and remove duplicated or cloned files?

After years of accumulating files, moving them around on drives and making numerous backups for OS reinstalls, I'm 100% certain that I've created more than one or two duplicates along the way.

I see there have been one or two suggestions on the forums already from searching:
Duplicate Files Finder: http://doubles.sourceforge.net/
AllDupe: http://www.alldup.de/en_index.htm

These seem to be the popular two.

someApp did not close properly last time it was run and will now clean up.

I'm tired of this shit:

---------------------------
someApp Portable (PortableApps.com Launcher)
---------------------------
someApp Portable did not close properly last time it was run and will now clean up. Please then start someApp Portable again manually.
---------------------------
ОК
---------------------------

I don't give a shit whether it was closed properly or not, just execute it when I double-click it!
Need to run some 'clean up'? - fine, run it silently and then execute the damn app!
