If i use Foxit Reader portable to open pdf document after closing the document foxitreader.exe and foxitreaderportable.exe do not exit. They are still in the task manager and consuming RAM. Is that a bug?

I am using Windows XP.

First off I just wish to say howdy to yal, and thank you for your works. Found yal looking for a way to sort / categorize the apps I have... and in the process found some apps to replace the ones I have beings they fit my tastes and or are smaller in size.

So here we go. No I do not have any apps on a usb stick, flash drive. I am running them on my laptop that is being treated like a desktop.

Does anyone know an alternative for applications that require net framework or exists an alternative ".NET 4" application?

For example:

I want to start a self-made portable app (made via cameyo online packer) which need Net Framework 4. I cant install .NET because i have no admin rights. Without NET4 my application doesn't start.

I don't have any problem with finding and reading messages that people have posted. I have registered as a member. JavaScript is enabled on each page of the portableapps.com domain. But I have yet to see any button, hyperlink, dialog or anything esle which would enable me to post a reply to an existing post. Am I going blind, or is there some "secret" to doing that?

This is another option in addition to TruCrypt.

I have not tested it yet, but it's good to see others picking up on the paf format. The paf selections have Greatly grown!

I have a usb disk which can integrate an ISO file into it just like the SanDisk U3 System do, I would like to see PortableApps support launching apps in such a way, for example the launcher on the read-only CD-ROM part and all other data stored on the R/W data part.

I want to learn to make portable application in a way that the applications in portableapps.com are made. I tried to create some applications with ThinApp but in the end it creates just one .exe file and i don't like this because i want to have access to all program settings as the programs here are created. ThinApp doesn't seem to have the option to create the programs this way.

From where to start?

Just did an update via the Portable Apps menu and came up with a virus on one of the apps. This happened only after the update and not before. I wasn't downloading anything else either.

The virus is: Cyrano.exe and it was in the Lucas Chess app.

Is there any scan done of apps prior to them being distributed?

The page announcing the portableapps.com companion USB https://portableapps.com/news/2011-12-08_-_portableapps.com_companion_wo... states the following read/write values:

USB 3.0: up to 85 MB/s read and 44 MB/s write
USB 2.0: up to 37 MB/s read and 28 MB/s write

Expresso/Coffee will work for temporary file associations.

Is there anything for Temporary Context menu when portable drive is attached?

Means without host modifications.

Note : it may be useful when we want our favorite applications to be opened for particular extensions that can be configured in context menu. it will give quick access.(Expresso/coffee will work for one favorite applications) but this will be helpful for use more number of favorite applications.
