Yes, I feel very stupid asking Mr.Haller somthing. Its not like you go into a microsoft fourm and say "Oye!" "Bill!" like you know him. but any way, wouldent it be good to put a spell cheacker on the comment poster thingy? It would be good for people like me. Seeing as I've probebly spelt somthing wrong alerdy in this topic.
I have made a group on Google Groups.

There's an issue with load yet again on the server. I'm working with a higher-level Linux / mySQL support at RackSpace to attempt to optimize the mySQL settings to alleviate the issue. I'll post a note back when things are settled. Until then, expect the server to be slow to load things up and very slow when you post something.
(Looks like just keeping the server running is going to consume even more of my life again... )
My Environement:
- 2GB USB Stick
- TrueCrypt encrypted virtual volume (on the stick)
It would be nice, if I could set the data directory for my portable apps to a seperate drive (to an absolute instead of a relative path)
Portability is not a problem, as you can always mount the TrueCrypt partition on the same drive letter (... yes, you will need administrativ rights to do so)
For Example:
I have a mounted TrueCrypt Volume on S:, so the path to the settings for, lets say, thunderbird should be: S:\data\thunderbird\profiles or similar
This way, the settings are all stored in a secure place on the stick.
Is there an awsome-fast browser besides FFP and Opera? Dose not have to be Portable.
I know that there are many legality issues with reverse-engineering software. On the other hand, I also know that many successful drivers have been reverse-engineered from the way that hardware interacts with closed-source software for use in open-source operating systems and projects (like Linux).
First, let me just say I only found this site a few days ago. So, this is all new to me. But, I'm loving it! These PortableApps are just great.(And Professionally done.) I loaded some of your more basic(but choice)apps on a Cruzer Mini 128mb I had forgotten about. And they work great! My only problem has nothing to do with the software, it's a storage issue. Clearly 128mb is pretty small. So, I cleared my Ipod, then loaded all the apps over to it, and it works just as great. With the ipod storage is not a concern of mine, however, size is. The USB is key size while the pod is pocket size. Then my connection is a concern, the USB is plug and go. The Pod is not that simple. There's an extra wire to drag around, and some computers(mainly Windows)are just plan dumb and can't figure out what to do when my pod connects. No real questions here, just your opinions on the topic.
Hi,
Is there a single place/page that lists all the apps featured on PortableApps and their current version? Maybe something like an RSS feed? If not, maybe a static page or file for each app?
I'm looking to create a script that will update my key automatically, and need someplace to find the current versions available.
Thanks.
Is there any possibility to make a list of PortableApps (with the same folder structure John uses) people made. It would be much easyer to find them cause today you either have to know the post or to go through all the posts whitch is a lot of work and pretty annoying.
Another Idea is some community-area. I think I read a post on this but i cant find it anymore.
I think there is a projects-section on this page but I dont know to access or list it. Is there somthing like "index.html" or do I have to know the name of the project to find it?
