A lot of freeware apps have rules about how to distribute them, whether it is allowed or not, and how.

I would like to clear the air/have it cleared on what denotes modification, and whether it is allowed based on the EULA of a program

Take for example Project64:
The authors are not affiliated with any of the companies mentioned, this software may be distributed for free, never sold in any way, as long as the original archive and software included is not modified in any way or distributed with ROM images.

I'd like to put out a call for someone to take over WinWGet. Currently, it is not functional on Windows 7 (and possibly Vista), so it will be pulled from the PA.c directory. It appears that it's simply a matter of altering the command line call to wget. It's a Delphi app and requires additional components installed like CoolTrayIcon and LockBox. It should work with just about any version of Delphi, but preferably older versions.

After integration of the program in the PortableApps.com Platform it`s impossible to change the language permanently. Only in the case of installation NOT in the Platform can performed a durable change of language.

I've been having problems with portable Chrome crashing for several weeks now. I found an old USB stick with Chrome 3.0 and it seems to work fine. However, I downloaded Chrome 8 to this stick and it will not run. Chrome will open, but will crash as soon as I try to load any website. Any ideas?

btw, I've tried the newer Chrome on 3 different jump drives and all 3 crashed.

Is there an app or is it built into PAM2.0 where it will close all open apps when ejecting the drive.

Any insight into this much appreciated

Is it possible to make Mobile Partner portable version.

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum but have been using PortableApps.com since 2007/2008 (something like that, I think). So my first question is when are the developers going to make themes for the menu and/or icons official? I mean like making a section full of themes in one of the links at the top. IMHO, I think that it would make the program much more appealing and customizable. Sorry if someone else posted something similar, it's good to make sure. BTW, I've already searched for "official themes" in the search box and none of the entries were similar to mine.

I have been downloading the apps from this site and converting them to work with my U3 device and will be posting all the u3p i have made here to share with everyone if you don't like it tuff I think its great to be able to use these apps with my U3 flash drive and thought others could use them too well will be posting soon.

NOTE: I will not be posting anything just enjoying the workings of this site and its comrades.

Quick Question. I use Iron and use the address bar for all my searching (instead of going to a search engine first).

Chrome allows you to add sites to the search engine list and select a default. (for example, I have Walmart, amazon, and imdb all set as searchable, by beginning to type and then hit "tab".

Can I add start.portableapps.com to this list? Anyone have any insight?
