Hi there.
When the PA Platform Program tries to download all the apps you selected, it has each separate app as a separate download. Is it possible to have it queue them all as one large download and not stop to do each one individually? It takes a bit for the download speed to ramp up, so it won't ever get full speed on my connection before it moves on to the next app and starts from 0, making it not as fast as it could be. (I select a bunch of apps.)
(Also, on a side note: Why is there apps on the site that aren't listed in the PA Platform Program?)
I am currently making a new PA template (development page); the current one is not very good.....
I am going to make it more straightforward and easy so that newcomers like me can understand it more easily....
@ John T. Haller: If you want, I could upload the file here, and maybe you could update the template on the development page...
I have a question; I am using a windows 7 computer; does it make any difference if I use NSIS Portable ANSI or NSIS Portable Unicode?
Currently I am using ANSI due to its smaller size.....
But what is the difference between them?
Do I have to have both of them installed? (I don't think so, but I'm just making sure)
Is one of them better than the other?
I am trying to package a new portable app, but I cannot find any icons...
What should I do?
In this comment: https://portableapps.com/comment/226446 John mentions a "launcher helper".
How does one know which portable apps use launcher helpers, and which do not?
If an app that typically uses a launcher helper is run directly from a shortcut (and not via the PortableApps Platform), will it leave things behind?
If I download the paf and try to run locally, gives error: "The installer was unable to download Proces Explorer...(ERROR: SendRequest Error)" paf MD5 = a20788e4f69aab121bfda6cc056b4cbc
If I try to add with the platform, gives an error: Unable to download the file. "This could be due to a proxy or network issue or the hosting server not permitting downloads from your location..."
If go to Process Explorer at sysinternals.com the zip file downloads OK.
MD5 = c46d435e670f8b3bb71bd701bbc9655b
Is this a network issue or PAc problem?
I am trying to package a portable app, but the installer creator displays an error saying that the help.html file is not found....
What to do? And how to make it?
Thanks in advance....
Hi,
I've probably canvassed the issue before, but I think now this PAL really needs Cloud Functionality, in that a list of applications can be Synchronized across platforms and mediums.
I am getting really tired of having to download programs over and over when this should happen automatically in my view, with the only conciliation being a prompt for updated programs.
Please Developer(s), see to it that this is done as a way of promoting future worth.
Cheers
I wonder if it's just me, but recently I've been noticing that portable apps are not being as actively updated/released as before.....
Previously, portable apps would be updated/released almost every day, but now, well, not many apps are being updated/released, even though there are LOTS of apps that are outdated....
Is PortableApps dying?
