We've had a few requests over the years to make Pale Moon available. Pale Moon attempts to achieve speed by sacrificing some important bits like accessibility, but fails to achieve this goal by pinning to the outdated ESR branch of Firefox. The result is that Pale Moon is slower than Firefox.
As an example, here is a comparison of the current releases of each, Pale Moon Portable 24.4 vs Firefox Portable 28.0. It's a fresh install of each before each test is run. Here are the results for three popular browser benchmarks:
I want to make a program to start maximized when i launch it and i add this line in AppNamePortable.ini file:
AdditionalParameters=/maximized
But it doesn't work.
On the installed version of the program if i create a shortcut of the .exe file and from Properties set it to run in maximized window it works, but for portable launcher doesn't work.
I hope someone can help me with this!
I need a couple recommendations for software. I need
-A text editor good for editing HTML
-A ZIP opener
-GUI web editor similar to Dreamweaver
-A video editor
-Calculator (preferably graphing)
Also, how do you use jPortable and what is a bootable USB drive?
Has anyone tried to see if this idea is possible? I believe such a project would certainly legitimize having VirtualDub as part of the PortableApps suite, but it could also open the door for other potential portable projects, some which do rely on installed codecs.
Just wondering, can you also accept Google Wallet for donations for PortableApps.com? Google Wallet is a type of payment that it can be used.
I want to make this program portable - http://justgestures.com/download/. If i extract the setup file with 7zip the program can be started from JustGestures.exe and it is working fine, but the problem is that it saves the settings in C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local, i am using Windows 7 x32.
What can i do to change the path for the settings folder? Do i have to edit JustGestures.exe and if yes how to do it?
These are the files from the extracted setup file:
I thought it was the idea that being a portable app. on could use on a thumb drive without it writing to the registry on a friends computer but I notice some do, as with PokerTH. I found 29 reg. entries. I can delete the program and shut down and restart and the entries are still there. Where does on file a bug?
I wanted to let folks know that, at the publisher's request, ToDoList Portable is temporarily unavailable. The author has indicated a dislike of the PAF package as some users have apparently been turning to him for support despite downloading it from us, seeing our splash screen, and having our help file next to the launcher. He is also upset by the dataloss issue that occurred with a handful of users who saved their data within the App directory and lost it on upgrade. The base app saves to its own directory by default and the PAF package did not take that into account.
I think a good idea would be to add a rating system to each of the individual applications. If a 5-star rating system were added to the apps page, users could see which applications other users like and which ones they don't. I think it would be a good idea to take into consideration. What do you think?
