Beta Testing

The Portable Apps Suite 12.0 Beta 2 has very ugly font (large enabled or not enabled). They look absolutely awfully appalling. I can't stand them. This will drive people out.

FIX No 1:
Please use DROID SANS font for the Menus. To compare fire up Xubuntu (no need to install anything on your HDD, just boot from CD- nothing will be installed on your HDD) and see THE VERY BEAUTIFUL FONT setup on APPLICATIONS TITLES. The font used is DROID SANS. ITS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Esp. if its setup the way like in Xubuntu. WOW!

FIX No 2:

I'm in a pickle with a new USB stick, wondering whether to install 12beta2 or 11 for an elderly computer illiterate. The stick will run overseas on borrowed PCs or at net cafes. Myself, I have never used PortableApps, but am a computer whiz.

First I saw the notice about 12 shipping for the holidays, so I waited. Later I read of Haller's schedule slip from hurricane and health issues which are understandable. So what wisdom have the crowds for me.

Something's gone screwy with the Updater since upgrading to the beta. After running Updater I see the normal window with a list of updatable apps. When I instruct it to go ahead and update them, I instantly get the message/window "Your portable apps have been updated ... Menu." I haven't had a problem installing through: Apps / Install a New App.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
